Why am I being asked to sign and return this form in advance? We are trying to make the registration process move as quickly as possible. If you pre-registered, (you completed the web form and paid for your entry ) you will have a separate line for registration. If you pre-submit the “Hold Harmless Agreement”, you will only need to sign the pre-printed registration form that you picked up your cup(s), pick up your cup(s) and lid(s) and get your goody bag with your T-shirt (in the goody bag). Having the “Hold Harmless Agreements”already signed will enable the line to move even faster.
The length of time it takes to register was one improvement that has been expressed in the past. We heard you and are doing all we can to improve those wait times.

How do I print the form?
Right above these instructions you should locate the “Press here to print or download the HOLD HARMLESS RELEASE for Cooks. NOTE: You have to be on the print in the blue box
Place cursor in the blue part of the box and click with your mouse.
What happens next?
That will depend on how your system is configured.
If using a computer (not phone)
- The document may download directly to your computer – typically into a directory called “Download/Downloads”. The title of the document should be HOLD-HARMLESS-RELEASE.pdf. Open the document and print it as normal.
- The document may open in a separate browser window. From there you can print the document or you can download the document to print later. The controls to do so are in the image below circled in red. The file folder icon with the down arrow causes the document to be downloaded, the printer icon will cause the document to be printed if printers are available.
Once printed, sign the form, date and print your name legibly. We need to be able to see who sent the form – so if we can’t decipher your printing – you may need to re-sign the form in person.
What do I do next?
There are a couple of ways you can return the signed form prior to the cookoff. (We were unable to find an electronic signature system that would justify the cost of the system vs number of cooks we normally have, so please don’t send mail asking why we are not using an electronic signature system.)
- Scan the form and email the form to rhonda@ladiesstatechili.com
- Take a photo of the single page and send it via messaging to – 512 318 8452. To take the picture please ensure that the signed document takes up most of the picture, but none of the form is “cut off”.
What if i can’t do either of those steps?
If you are unable to do either, please bring the signed copy with you to Blanco and turn in when you sign in and pick up your cup(s). If you forget to bring the form, don’t worry. There will be blank forms available for you to sign at the registration table.
I am using a phone and not a computer – how do I print?
If using a phone, first ensure you can print from your phone. I only have an iphone so these instructions may be specific to an iphone.
- Using a browser open the “Hold Harmless Agreement for cookoff”. Menu –> October 5, 2024 Cookoff Information –>. Hold Harmless Agreement for Cookoff.
- You may get a message that the site is not secure. Yes, this will be fixed after the cookoff but follow the prompts to proceed to the site.
- Toward the top of the page, select the HOLD HARMLESS RELEASE in the blue box.
- The release should open in another browser window.
- Choosing the Up Arrow (for iphones). (Step 1 diagram)
- You will get a pop up (Step 2 Diagram)
- Scroll in the pop up window until you see print (Step 3 Diagram)
- An option window will open. Check your printer setting – make sure it’s the printer to use – if not change it, then select print. (Step 4 Diagram)
