Since this is a State Championship, first place (regardless of state of residence) AND the top 3 finishers who reside in Texas will qualify to cook at the 2025 Terlingua International Chili Cookoff. If the 2nd and 3rd place winners reside outside of Texas, they will receive points only.
The Queen is the highest finishing place of a Texas resident.
The head cook MUST BE PRESENT to win. If she must leave before the winners are announced, she must give her ticket to the referee before leaving.
